About us.

As we sat in our garden at the end of the summer in 2010 enjoying the, just concluded, holiday in beautiful France, the feeling of ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to live there permanently and start something for yourself’ soon came to mind. Wild plans of campsites, hotels, chambre d’hotes, gites, etc. passed in review. In the end, we asked ourselves the questions? What are we going to do? Are we going to remain dreamers or become doers?
We decided to become doers and a new direction in our lives was set.
Since we were both working in ambulance services, we could take advantage of some kind of early retirement and so the time (2020) when we would then emigrate also became clear. This also coincided exactly with Tess’ transition from primary to secondary school. A period of 10 years should be enough to find our ideal home and prepare for emigration.
After we had drawn up some criteria, the search area became smaller and smaller and in the end it had to be the Auvergne and preferably the Puy de Dome.
